Bullshit. I have no problem with the results in the CA election. What I have a problem with is people who want the federal government being involved in local issues.

So she's into the 'our country' thing but doesn't agree with our founding fathers that these things should be handled at the local level. She wants it to be dictated from on high by a central government? Sounds like a typical liberal to me. :)

You mean the federal government becoming more and more involved with the daily lives of it's citizens? Or, do you mean the republican and democratic party abandoning all sense of the rule of law? Or, do you mean bills being passed in congress and signed by the president that are the equivalent of a Rube Goldberg machine in writing? Or, do you mean the complete loss of level headiness by the electorate as the country seems like it is on a course to continually swing from one extreme of leadership to the other and people outsource their thinking to talking heads on radio and TV? Or, is it the complete lack of long term thinking in this country that you are referring to? Because there has been a lot of bs happening during my lifetime and I really want nothing to do with it.

HAHA... Texas and their football mythology. The entire state is still feeling insecure that if you count all of the national championships from all of the football teams they still don't come close to po dunk Oklahoma and Nebraska.

Slavery was ended by amending the constitution, which is entirely appropriate. But you are correct to point out that I omitted miscegenation.

Of course. I am not being selective about issues here. In fact, I don't even think the government should be involved in the definition of a marriage since it is traditionally a religious institution. But I think the results should stand. Heck, even with something like health care I prefer to see it decided by the states.
