I'm searching a new home to buy and I've found a nice house near the Michelin[^] tires factory. Someone knows if there are problems with Air Pollution or big noise living near that kind of factory?

Hmmm... a large factory (heavy industry I would assume) that creates lots of tyres... hmmmmmmm... I reckon there might be plenty of pollution, noise and risk if it goes boom - ever seen a pile of tyres on fire?

I wouldn't know about noise, but the vulcanizing process for rubber requires sulphur dioxide, and that's a rather nasty substance.

I've lived previously in an industrial zone for around 15 years, and I can tell you, the pollution (air, water) was pretty horrible! There were days when everything smelled of plastic... X| Of course, if it's just this one factory (or a few), things may not be so bad, and I've no idea how things are in Brazil. The residential district where I live now is a million times better.

Unless they have invented a teleportation system, there is also the traffic to consider.

Go visit the neighborhood and ask your potential neighbors. The selling homeowners won't tell the truth but just about everyone else will. At least that's been my experience. Also, drive through it on a weekend evening. Drive through it on a weekday. Drive through it on a weekday night. Is this in Brazil?
