But Ilion has been link spamming for months now without any particular complaint so I'm kind of wondering why today is suddenly so different? Ilion won't (or can't) rationally discuss evolution - is this really a surprise? CSS has also pretty much been behaving himself as far as I've seen, no profound vulgarity or anything like that. He's a conspiracy nut, big whoop. But this personal attack criteria thing is just a wee bit hypocritical, Jon, because on multiple multiple occasions you personally have called them unemployed, dumb, mentally ill, etc. Really, this forum is not that bad. It's not like we have a bunch of /b/tards or YAHOO MESSAGE BOARD ALL CAPSERS cluttering up the place. But if we really are moving, I would come along, I do like the milieu.

I've just been reciting the facts ;) Of course you're right. I don't think there's been anyone who hasn't tried to hand back to the two of them what they love to hand out. Which doesn't excuse me in the slightest. Indeed, it was giving an excuse for the meaner side of my personality to come out that caused me first to start ignoring all their responses to my posts and to stop responding to theirs. But the anger and distaste I feel when I bump into one of their posts is all the more reason to move on.

Faring OK :thumbsup: Regarding CP, shame, it was once a great site. Gone downhill somewhat in recent months. Makes me wonder if Maunder has taken his eye off the ball, and coupled with that, those external blogs now being converted into CP articles, is in my opinion, making the offerings from CP appear sloppy and unprofessional.

I worry that CP in general is fractured. How would you stop anyone from joining your soapbox ? Personally, I think we should not be responding to CSS, because I honestly believe we're only making his mental illness worse, or at least, keeping him bound to it. Chris made his feelings known when he hid this place. Meanwhile, the lounge is very quiet. I think we as a community need to discuss what moderation means, and what needs to be moderated, in what way, to make this place not be owned by a few trolls. Perhaps if we all went away for a month or so, the trolls may give up and leave ?

You're as moderator. What does that mean to you? The community can't make you do anything you don't want to do or not do anything you want to do. I think we either need really to moderate this forum - i.e. delete every post Ilion and CSS make, or move on. Either will shut them up. It means I've been given a responsibility to uphold community standards, which in turn means there needs to be discussion if the community as a whole feels there's a standard I need to uphold. Well, that's true, I guess. But, you're implying an abuse of power ( again, I am aware *something* has happened, and I don't know what, I am trying to answer this as if nothing had happened, that is, being frank and honest with no intended overtones ). I could just delete every post I see from CSS, although that would probably only feed his illness, just as entertaining him, does. But, that's not what the community wants, so I don't do it.

Well, in fairness, we're locked away, CP's dirty little secret. It's a shame that those two own this place, and I wonder, if we all left, how long it would take them to move into the Soapbox 2.0 and just post the same stuff there, but I suspect that Chris mostly feels this place is allowed to exist to keep the trolls contained.

I have honestly asked at times what people think for the same reasons, those two do take over this forum. However, if we ignored them, wouldn't that stop them posting ? That's what I am doing with CSS now, and I am moving in that direction for Ilion. But, others keep responding, which makes me assume that there are a lot of people who come here to poke sticks at the retards. I disagree with it. I think CSS has actual mental/psychological issues that he should get addressed, and instead, he is encouraged by the people who attack
