Business Name

How about "Mando"? It's latin meaning "to commit, entrust, order, command" plus it still has the red-blooded man thing going on.

I'm trying to come up with a business name, and wouldn't mind some feedback. I thought of Ordered Software, and it has various merits, but it's very grey. I'm trying to stick along the lines of ordered, as my delivered code is normally very tight, i.e. crystalline, i.e. ordered, but that form limits my domain name, so I'm considering Crystallus. Thoughts on the name?
Mmmmm.... Ordinate Software might work.

I've actually started leaning away from 'software'. Not because I'm not software, but because I'm trying for a bang-for-buck one-word wonder. :)

If you have to explain the name to people, it doesn't work. Crystallus doesn't shout "Software" at me.

An important consideration in naming a company is making sure people can spell it. Seriously (and speaking from experience.) The best names are either pretty obvious (Microsoft) or an abstraction (Apple, Exxon.) While it may be cute to have names with meanings, it ends up being a distraction and nobody cares. (You may think people will be dying of curiosity about the origins of your company name and when they find out they'll go "oooh". They won't and won't.)

It took nearly thirty years for people to leave me alone with that. Thank you very much.
