Hey all, I'm moving house this month and subsequently need a new adsl service. I'm with pipex at the moment, however they won't let me keep my email address if I move home (bizarre but true). So I thought i may as well look elsewhere - any recommendations from anyone? I have an Orange mobile package and can get cheap internet on top of that... but fear their internet service could be pretty bad judging from some reviews. Any good review sites out there? thx

The List of bad ISPs in the UK[^] may help (not to find a good one, but to check whether one is really as good as they say)

I will not take the piss out of your name even though I'm certain you've never heard anything before. Get doooown. Er, use to like Pipex but left them for the same reason: made it awkward to transfer service to new address. Now with O2. Excellent.

O2, be (thinkbe) or Virgin if you have Cable and want up to 50Mb/sec, that is the list I have in mind at the moment. If you go O2 get a PAYG o2 mobile and claim a discount.

Virgin is a bad ISP[^] though, unless you get the XXL plan.

Virgin (previously NTL) used to be great a few years ago. You got what you paid for. I had 20MB and got that upstream and downstream. Was wonderful for running my server. I knew it had got worse, I didn't realise it was as bad as that though :wtf:

I can also recommend O2(they bought BE internet), I have been with them for the last 4-5 years in London and their product and support is top notch. And they don't do bandwidth throttling they just increase capacity :)
