I work on a government facility that co-houses the training facility for the US Federal Air Marshal Service. It is a sprawling compound that also houses uniformed services so it is not unusual to see uniformed personnel walking around or in the cafeteria, but "Men in Black" is not as common a sight. Back is the new black for these folks. There was a graduation ceremony and the building I work in has the largest auditorium on the base so most ceremonies are held there. The window in front of my desk overlooks the main entrance to the building so I get to see when events are happening. The Air Marshal graduation was kind of strange because they started emerging from the parking lot, first a few and then a lot of, "Men in Black". I don't want to give an estimate on the number of graduates (proprietary information), but suffice it to say that there were a lot of "Men in Black" entering the building. Every one of them had a black suit with white shirt and black tie. "Men in Black" really do exist.

You didn't say what they'd graduated in - funeral directorship?

I thought that it looked like a funeral directors convention. I actually was staying at a hotel that was hosting a real funeral directors convention once. It was pretty eerie to go through the display area where there was all the funeral service paraphernalia on display with smiling sales people wanting to pitch this coffin or that piece of embalming equipment, but that is another story. These folks were the real deal. If they considered you a threat you would be availing yourself of the services of a funeral director. Unlike the funeral directors, who were attending a convention and quite jovial, these folks didn't smile, not even at their graduation ceremony.

Kind of like an Elvis convention then, where everyone dresses the part. :-D <edit> The only prop that was missing were the sun glasses. Apparently sun glasses are not issued equipment or else they all would have been wearing them. </edit>

Isn't that called a normal day at the FBI office? Or IBM?

Come to think of it they did look like IBM salesmen, except that they were not smiling which gave it away. FBI office, quite possibly. They train at a different facility so I don't know for sure, but I do suspect they use the same tailors.

There were no women in black? That explains why they weren't smiling then :)

Eight bytes walk into a bar. The barkeep asks, "Can I serve you something?" "Yeah", reply the bytes, "Make us a double."

Even they, if they existed, were manly girls and did not smile.
