Depending on sunspots, freeway traffic, the weather, and the amount of methane I produce while I have my thumb up my ass waiting for it to finish downloading, I have between 4.5 and 10 hours before it will be done. What really sucks is that I remoted into my home machine from work so I could start the download immediately upon its availability, and now I can't log on at home until it's done - in 10 hours... Grrrrr...

Once more - I cannot use the alternative site because an Expression Pro subscription is not a MSDN subscription. This is what I was ranting on about last week. Same download, same product key, but not really a MSDN account (even though it's listed on the MSDN subscription comparison page).

Yeah, after W7 RTM doing the same thing with my video as RC did, that is on one monitor it throws it into some wacky high res mode and refresh rate that the screen is very hard to read and shift with part hanging off the monitor. Of course, it does not have wacom drivers so the mouse was dead as usual. It sures takes more time to configure things when you can hardly see the screen and have no mouse ;) Microsoft better pray that not many people will upgrade to W7 who have hardware similar to mine. I have a BFG geForce 7300 (or was it 7800) compatible video card and Vista 64 never had one problem with it, but W7 hates it! Will have to see if all the other bugs are still in W7 that the RC had. Off to get the wacom drivers for my mouse...

Or at least you're not releasing it on your poor, unsuspecting neighbors...

How much, if at all, has it improved from the Beta? I kind of liked the beta, and I'm sort of contemplating upgrading ( I have a full copy of Vista Ultimate).

I'm old. Certain clearance tolerances in my anatomical nomenclature have required modification. It's almost as if I've spun a bearing.

I have only used the RC version for a short period of time, the full version seems much faster, startup, running and shutdown. Obviously I don't have all my apps installed yet, but most of them now and they all work, no compatability problems at all so far. Just trying to find 64-bit versions of my apps, most are still 32-bit and all run fine so far.

Something had to go wrong of course, wouldn't be a fresh install without one or two minor problems. ;)
