I have been back from my vacation for two weeks, and strangely, I haven't written a single line of code since. That feels great, assuming it does not affect the paychecks. The bad thing is, now I have to worry about pretending that I am coding while I am not. :-D P.S. Just kidding, I am back to coding today.

At this time in the week, a little bit, the lure of the pub is strong... :) I enjoy coding to overcome problems, finding a solution, get a real sense of satisfaction, but at the moment I'm doing a bit of dull integration work using an IDE I hate on a legacy app that's an absolute mess...

That's your problem - I took only a week off this summer, and spent most of it replacing my old passport with a new (biometric) one. Compared to that, coding is a very relaxing experience.

I get this from time to time. Then I just remind myself to the days before starting to code and how hard I had to work to earn less than now. And I get back to coding instantly then.

Most people only do that as a step on the way to becoming XML programmers.

Say it's compilng. Sometimes I lose my desire to code, but more often I lose the desire to code a specific problem or program and switch to another when possible.
