Actually I am glad the old fucker is dead, many are dead at his behest with his pro IRA stance, his involvement with raising money for terrorists and the innocent victims buried because of his love of the Murdering scum. Just my view of course.

Wouldnt go that far, but will not be sheading a tear for this anglophobe who like his father was no friend to the UK
Go away and research the subject, analyze the options for and against, understand the problem and them come back when you agree with me.

I'm not glad he's dead, but I'm not saddened by it either. Sad for his family though. He had too many shady aspects to his life and career for me to respect him.

Finally a Kennedy did something useful ... Democrats only have 59 votes in the Senate :)

From the article:
"He has authored more pieces of major legislation than any other United States senator," Patrick Kennedy said in the interview. "He is the penultimate senator. I don't need to exaggerate when I talk about my father. That's the amazing thing. He breaks all the records himself."
Is this some new meaning of penultimate that I wasn't previously aware of?

Perhaps an old meaning. It seems to me, and I may be wrong about this, that long ago it was used more in the sense of "the one beyond which there is but one." Modern usage is more like ninth out of ten. If that's what he meant, it begs the question who is the "one" -- the ultimate senator. Probably he meant quintessential. :)
