This software is by far the buggiest product ever released by Microsoft:mad:. We have so many problems with it. We have slow down our productivity noticeably. Here is a list of some problems we encountered: 1) Does not work properly with source safe. The solution often loses some files or forgets to include some when we add file. Sometime the toolbar icon for source safe show the .Exe button and sometime it does not for the same file or project. When I right click in the solution explorer on a project sometime I have access to "Get latest version" and other time the menu is not there. 2) The IDE freeze so many times in a day that I will not give number here because I don't want to humiliate a company that I love. My co-worker are becoming paranoid and are afraid to open file because the class view is so slow to refresh (even on a big computer 2GHz and 512 mb) 3) It is painfully slow in debug mode. 4) Sometime the IDE turn all white and I'm not able to get control back. To do so I have to go in the "Task Manager" select VS and click on "switch to". Our experience to date with VS is very painful and I hope that MS will post a service pack very soon. The current VS is not a serious tool not because of lack of feature but because of lack of stability and it is currently not usable in a professional development environment. David Brillon

Hi, I don't know what good would this be to you but FWIW I work in a team of 6 people (using SourceSafe) and we don't have all those problems. Andres Manggini. Buenos Aires - Argentina.

I've not had the problems you describe. I often have the IDE open all day. I have noticed that if I'm running Media Player 8 AND the IDE AND Word AND IE, one of the last three can slow down tremendously. I suspect the fault lies with the IE core and Media Player getting into minor race conditions, but that's just a wild guess. But, I have ran into other bugs, problems and quirks and hope a service pack arrives soon.

I agree... VS.NET is wonderful, but full of bugs !!!! (need a proof ? selecting 7 class in the classview makes VS crash with near all computers in our company. VS freezes often, and so one... So many bugs in an IDE ! I'm waiting for a Service Pack, MS guys :)
