What a bunch of morons: what, exactly, is wrong with MS attempting to profit from its investment? Further, why shouldn't they restrict the software and/or create different priced versions so as to maximise the potential sales and market??? Perhaps if open source software was better/easier to use/more accessible/easier for hardware manufacturers to install/easier for users to install it might provide real competition to MS. Perhaps that's the issue they should address.

They have a nerve complaining about the quality of microsoft code and then produce such a buggy site

Go away and research the subject, analyze the options for and against, understand the problem and them come back when you agree with me.

Aint it just, the sliding doohiky that moves as you select the links on the main menu displays appaulingly. I can make out the bottom half of their logo and a load of text that's clearly missing. This is in FF3.5.2, hilariously, that part of the site works in IE8!

DRM in Windows only has effect if you have *purchased* DRM-protected media. I've never purchased DRM-protected media for this reason.

Nor do I, but should it be there in the first place? IMO it shouldn't - it's more like something to put in DVD player software (which will then of course be hacked, which I won't say is bad)

Well the problem is with Blu-Ray discs manufacturers (Microsoft, for once, is not included): they require HDCP for playing HD movies which in turns requires the video and display drivers (and the monitor of course) to explicitly support HDCP, thus the need for some hooks in the operating system. That's the reason why you cannot play Blu-Ray movies on GNU/Linux.
