I just realized that I must have listened to Goo Goo Dolls' A boy named Goo album not less than 4 times in a row and I've just repeated again. Some bands are really good. Any albums/songs that you're willing to repeat again and again (especially when you're coding)?

The Smiths -- though I still need to MP3-ify the vinyl. Usually if an artist/group I like is prolific I'll play a bunch of their albums together, but not listen to one repeatedly.

SOiL, I listened to their album, re-de-fine, non-stop for a week. [added] I've woken up to 'Pride' the first song on the album since it was released.

Yes.[^] I must've listened to this one hundreds of times already since it was recommended yesterday... (does it count?)

I'd add 3 doors down and staind along with radiohead to my repeat list. Right now, its Goo Goo Dolls.

I like A Boy Named Goo but the Goo's Dizzy Up The Girl is one of my most favorite albums ever. Overall my most played albums are Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations, both by Muse. I can't wait to get their new album next week! My current favorite album that I can't stop playing (over and over and over) is All Sides by O.A.R. :)

Anything I'm listening to at work (eg >90% of my collection) meets that standard. If I'm paying enough attention to catch the album rolling over it's distracting me more than the noise I'm trying to drown out.

And this is why I believe that CD's are fairly priced at $15, while DVD's are way overpriced at $20. I'll get far more hours of enjoyment per dollar from a good music CD than I'll get out of the greatest movie ever made.

I just realized that I must have listened to Goo Goo Dolls' A boy named Goo album not less than 4 times in a row and I've just repeated again. Some bands are really good. Any albums/songs that you're willing to repeat again and again (especially when you're coding)?

That';s true, but I'm not sure what that has to do with the goo goo dolls :-)

Iron Maiden - Live after death Metallica - Master of puppets I've actually been repeating a NWOTM compilation I got with Classic Rock mag this month. NWOTM is the new wave of traditional metal, new bands that sound like the early to mid 80s.

 I didn't exactly claim it was "music"... I'm rather easily distracted these days, and I find this is very effective at drowning out ambient noises when you need to concentrate. Since there's no variation in tone or anything, it doesn't draw your attention like a TV, radio or next cubicle neighbor's conversation would... That being said, the only time I listen to actual music when I work is when I'm working on tedious boilerplate code that doesn't need any brain cell activity...
