Yeah, I mean, I'd rather not have someone using my name in their domain; I really can't see them benefiting that much. Also, I can't buy up every single domain name variation of lesliesanford. But perhaps I should buy the basic ones? .net, .org, etc?
they are probably registering all "derived" TLD based on existing ones to coerce people into paying large amount of money in case those people want to register "chinese" domains.

During our preliminary investigation, we found that these domain names' keyword is identical with your trademark. I wonder whether you consigned Barres holdings Ltd to register these domain names with us? Or is Barres holdings Ltd your business partner or distributor in Asia? If you have no relationship with this company, we assume that they have other purposes to obtain these domain names. Currently, we have already postponed this company's application temporarily. I wouldn't answer, unless I wanted to have some fun at their expense. Think 419Baiter. If I did, I would first set up a throw-away email (gMail, hotmail, whatever) and use it only for that. Then if I get bored, I can just stop playing, without filling my inbox with rubbish.

Got the same one a week or two ago. Got me going for a moment because, coincidentally, I've been spending time hammering down sites violating the DMCA and duplicating my content - sending out DMCA notices, etc. So the timing made it seem it was a response to an act of mine.

Hey Leslie, This is a known scam, and you guessed right as to their mode of operation. You know what'd be a nice way to reply to them? Something like : "Yeah, Barres Holdings are acting on my behalf. Please go ahead and work with them." That'd be nice :-)

1. The email is apparently from an Asian company. Go easy on the grammar. 2. I see too many Brits and Americans commit basic grammar errors every day.
