'Evil' Windows 7 campaign goes global[^] Also, have you noticed how the comments to The Register posts are full of anti-MS zealots? (At the time of writing no comments yet on this one though.)

Apple and Linux goes up, Microsoft goes down. History is like a circle - and Microsoft's circle are about to start over soon. I think - many users will stuck on XP as there's no any reason to upgrade to W7even. For example my machine which fits all my requirement s is 5 years old Athlon 3200+ 2GB Ram and 2TB of hard drives is runing XP. Laptop is Dell's Pentium III with 256Mb also run XP. To run crappy Vista or not so crappy W7even I should definitely buy new desktop PC and laptop. Even using pirated windows copy it will cost sensible amount of money. If I buy two licenses of W7even (which will be expensive than XP) total sum will scare all my relatives out :-) Then why should I buy anything if I already have everything? BTW - two other PIII machines are perfectly running Ubuntu 8.04.3 Linux and perform all kind of background tasks like routing (between 2 internet channels), caching and traffic filtering, torrents downloads and so on. So to summarize - MS is absolute 'evil'. It is not like free Linux, and not like fully equipped Apple machines. There's nothing new in Vista and 7even, really!

Peter Brown, executive director of the Free Software Foundation (FSF), told The Reg.
It's a civil liberties movement. It's not about fan boys - Apple versus Linux. It's about a freedom movement in the technology era.
I'm not sure how he justifies this, it looks much more like a "Let's destroy Microsoft" movement. If he wants people to have freedom, then allow them also the freedom to choose Microsoft, or anyone's, products, based on reasonable information, rather than (propagandist)FUD.

However I'm still absolutely clear with opinion that people shouldn't pay for such kind of sh!tty software which is however a monopoly. I'll pay for Mac, I'll donate to OS projects, but will never pay for Office 2007 and will use pirated office 2003. That's life, that's true. I'm not making money on office but I have to use it because everyone is using it. You're too M$ optimistic and loyal I should say. Try UBUNTU - feel free... Like in "free beer", I suppose you like to get couple of pintas for free!

Brown noted it's "very easy" to reach developers, but almost impossible to make the connection outside of that. I wonder wonder wonder why... It's like "Coca Cola created a new soft drink - why not try a Pepsi instead?" Weird.

I happen to be old, and back from that day. In those days access to computers was limited and source code was widely shared. Thing is life changed, Arpanet is what you use here. So there were pluses and minuses about what happened. That said a knee jerk statement like MS is evil only demonstrates a level of immaturity that I cannot even begin to address

But it doesn't mean that MS will be monopoly forever, its time will pass soon as MS have some fast, good moving and young competitors behind. MS is too lazy and huge monster.

Very aware.. I'm a old fart got involved back in those days... my point is and I disagree .. worked on TST , other OS's .. in my humble opinion Weven is the best OS I ever used, not a MS shrill either

Not true at all. There are many alternatives to Microsofts products. Also many corporations do large parts of their business on mainframes which run without any Microsoft products involved.
