Need some source control advice
-
I'm a hobby programmer, although I do some coding to help run my business. I'm the only programmer, using Visual Studio 2008. I need (I think) to start using some sort of source/version control for my projects. There are multiple open source/free/low cost solutions available, what is the best (read easiest) for single developer use? I'd appreciate some suggestions/hints/guidance. Thanks.

Well, you'll probably get a recommendation for every one that exists. I use CVS[^] at home, but I have also used it in a commercial (small team) environment and it seems to offer everything necessary to do the job. It's quite easy to use from the command line, and I think there is a GUI interface also available (tortoise?).

Thanks - that is a better way to ask the question - what do you folks use at home for source control?

Subversion[^] for the repository. This page also links to TortoiseSVN, referred to above, for integration with Explorer. ankhsvn[^] if you want VS IDE integration.
