when you are so not in the mood to work? Honestly, I can't be bothered to do anything today. I've been staring at my project in Visual Studio for about 2 hours now.

Yesterday I wanted to work (didn't even have to :confused:) but couldn't get started. So I started a voluntary revision of one of my client web sites. I started with fidlies, like trimming down the CSS, somehow broke the CSS based menu, couldn't get it going again, and ended up implementing a whole new jQuery menu library, until after midnight. I call the 'kindling' process Code Massage. Even if it's just removing or inserting whitespace, some casual refactoring, etc. Sooner or later something grabs me and holds on for a long time. It has resulted in rewrites of entire classes etc. Caveat: If something does grab you, just make sure you steer it toward your objective. I've lost enough time on some projects that way that I've lost the project. :omg:

I can't get myself to do that either. I think I'll cook, and collect my thoughts while cooking.

I usually walk away for a while and do something else. That break gives me time to think it through and helps to clear my head. Course at my age there not cobwebs they're brain cells that I've killed over the years with an unhealthy life style...if you catch my drift...:) Mike
