I downloaded kazaa 2.0, it still sucks. It has severe resource leak problems.

precisely. there are things you can do though - for one thing, take anything you have downloaded and put them in a different folder - no point having your bandwidth chewed by people downloading from you. Also, make sure to exit from Kazaa when you aren't actively downloading - that way others can't find you. ;)

or you could go into the options, and set the option that means others arent allowed to download from you. ;p but with their new system, the more people download from you, the higher your participation, and people with a higher participation, are put ahead of people in queues than people with lower participation.

There's no real limit on the number of simultaneous downloads you can have going at once. However, there was a bug in IE that limited it to 2 or 3. But that's only in IE. Todd Smith

I was just thinking, kazaa allows you to download from several people at once, but i thought you can only download from 3 at a time, yet it manages to download from 5 or more at a time

You get 100% participation level by downloading yourself a big file (over 800Mb) using the localhost technique I have shown. Kazaa 2.0 exclusive only. Also KazaaLite 2.0 has been released lately (ad free).

problem with programs like Kazaa - they open ports on your pc. As mine has a 24 hour ADSL connection I'm not going to trust Kazaa to protect my pc. I take my own measures, including firewalling it. In a better world I wouldn't have to, but unfortunately people will take advantage if they find a hole. I don't want my pc to be used as a robot by crackers to get into other's networks. :suss:
