So I take it no one has invited you? How sad :D

Yes, I'm here at work, with my head on my desk, weeping at the cruel injustice of the world, where I am inviteless at Weven's coming out party. Truly there is no more sad soul than mine on this beautiful NYC day.

How many of you are holding (perhaps secretly, so as not to embarrass yourself) a Windows 7 launch party? C'mon, I know you're out there. Somewhere. Secretly lusting after the goodness in Weven, and salivating at the thought of being able to foist its moist chewy goodness (like a cake!) on your unsuspecting friends!

I applied to host one. Not because I was actually going to host one, but because they send you a free copy of Win7 ultimate. I got rejected. I wonder if somehow they knew.

Holy crap there's an application process? You mean they are really expecting people to host Weven parties? I had thought the whole thing was just a poorly done commercial, I had no idea Redmond was taking this seriously. Man that's even sadder.

The only parties we host at our house inevitably involve our hot tub and activities that invoke the phrase "whatever happens here stays here". ;) I'm so *not* a geek/nerd any more if I ever was.

Nope. I've got my hands full with restoring my backups onto my brand new copy of Weven that arrived this morning. The bookmarks are restored, but I've got 10 GB of files to restore.

They didn't hold a launch event in my town. They did for Vista, Office 2007, VS 2005 and VS 2008 and all were packed, so I don't understand the resistance.

Nope. Sounded pretty lame to me. I've done Linux install parties before, mind you - they're fun because you sit around with a bunch of geeks drinking and comparing hardware, and then everyone goes home with a fresh OS install... Not sure what MS expects us to do with a single copy of We7en... Pirate it? Show it off on one machine while trying to guess if it'll work on everyone else's hardware? Pirate it? Admire the "corporate psychedelia" posters? Pirate it? Lame.

  Your reply is inadvertently hilarious because "bacon" is an in joke amongst our friends that I can't even begin to describe in a kid sister friendly way on this message board. As for moose there's none around here unless they're in a zoo somewhere, you'd have to drive an hour, take a ferry for an hour then drive about 5 more hours to even get to a place where there's a possibility of seeing a moose. However I might be able to come up with something kinky that we can refer to as a "moose". ;)
