    I need to cook for myself, I've had pasta for the last few nights. Anyone got any recipe suggestions for one :(( ? Bearing in mind I'm in Norway so a few chicken breasts will set me back about £10. I'm not opposed to vegetarian recipes (in fact the only vegetarian recipe I know is pasta without meat). At the moment I'm getting a pizza. But I really don't want to eat that. [Edit] A little help? Right! Got loads of ideas!! Off to the shops now.

    Thank-you all!!!

    klippfisk with a nice creamy sauce or maybe a tomato-ey sauce?

    Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p

      Why not Pasta with Rudolph Balls, or a Salt Cod dish.

        I made these great stuffed tomatoes a couple days ago. Ground beef, onions, garlic, peppers, celery, sauteed it all and then stuffed the tomatoes, adding this incredible feta cheese to the mix, and baked it for about 10 minutes on 450F or so. You could use rice instead of beef. Marc

        Will work for food. Interacx

                Dried, salted cod - as you were in Norway, thought you were Norwegian - silly me. I had it when I was in Norway - very nice. Don't know what the price is like to buy - everything in Norway seemed insanely expensive.

                  There are loads of pasta dishes without meat. Pasta is really good with cauliflower and brocolli. Lasagne made with vegetables and green lentils. Stir fried vegetables with rice. Vegetable and bean chilli Mushroom rissotto

                  I am a bit partial to a chilli. But, I normally cook that when I'm over here 'cause I can make a big batch and have it a for a few days. Saves cooking everynight. :)

                      It is - I really enjoyed it. I was quite surprised at the quality of the beef I had in Norway as well - very nice. I also had some salmon, very good, and mussels - best I've ever had.

                        Hehehe! Yeah, I don't go to pubs here!! I get some duty free and bring it over. I think £8 for a bottle of beer is a little to much!!

                                Actually, that's not a bad idea. Mr Dootson mentioned fish as well. I normally whack the Salmon in some foil, bit of olive oil, some herbs, salt and pepper. Whang it in the oven, 20 minutes later out it pops, add some potatoes and veg. And the hollandaise sauce only makes it better! :thumbsup:

                                  I need to cook for myself, I've had pasta for the last few nights. Anyone got any recipe suggestions for one :(( ? Bearing in mind I'm in Norway so a few chicken breasts will set me back about £10. I'm not opposed to vegetarian recipes (in fact the only vegetarian recipe I know is pasta without meat). At the moment I'm getting a pizza. But I really don't want to eat that. [Edit] A little help? Right! Got loads of ideas!! Off to the shops now.

                                  Thank-you all!!!

                                  :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: [/Edit]

                                  Assuming you speak only of the noodles, what vegetables do pasta contain?

                                    Actually, that's not a bad idea. Mr Dootson mentioned fish as well. I normally whack the Salmon in some foil, bit of olive oil, some herbs, salt and pepper. Whang it in the oven, 20 minutes later out it pops, add some potatoes and veg. And the hollandaise sauce only makes it better! :thumbsup:

                                    Not to mention salmon is cheaper than chicken in Norway. Maintaining a high-protein diet in Norway is expensive. I generally go through two dozen eggs a week and a few pounds of salman. Vegetables and bread are relatively inexpensive compared to meats... but I am a voracious carnivore. I still do. Just bought 2Kg of mince to turn into chilli in the slow cooker tomorrow. It takes the same time to make two portions! What we don't eat, I will freeze in 8oz bags and eat later.
