Sad news

Hello, A couple of months ago I posted that my father had survived cancer longer than the seven month max because of an experimental treatment. Do to his age the treatment was different but had to be stopped after two of the three cycles because of complications. Well dad died Thursday, fifteen months after being diagnosed with AML. I am at moms waiting to go to the viewing and trying to find something to do with my time. Sorry for the sad note in the lounge but it helps to talk. djj :(

Ohh mate, that's awful news, I'm soo sorry. I had a similar thing happen to my father. He went into hospital for a hernia operation, whilst they were digging about they found cancer pretty much everywhere. He went on Chemo, we thought he was getting better; so did he. Anyway, it all suddenly went downhill after a while, and he died in hospital a shadow of his former self. Really distressing, so I know what it's like. It does get better, and those images you see now will eventually be replaced by the happier memories. :rose:

No need to apologise, we are here for the bad times as well as the good. My condolences for your loss but I'm glad you had longer with your father. Also the doctors will have lerned from this which will help other so your father has helped others in the future. A good legacy. Elaine :love:

I wish you all the luck handling this. I wish I had more to say that could help. It is never easy, but do your best to get through it. There is a great bunch of people here, I am sure you will get many words to help move you forward. If you need help please find someone to reach out to and talk.

Mate I'm really sorry to hear that. I just got off the phone with my mother, I'd looked at the calendar this morning and realised today is the 8th anniversary of my fathers death. It does get easier with time, I still think about him a lot but its more memories of the good times and the influence he played in my life than the sadness of his passing. Look after yourself
