Sad news

Hello, A couple of months ago I posted that my father had survived cancer longer than the seven month max because of an experimental treatment. Do to his age the treatment was different but had to be stopped after two of the three cycles because of complications. Well dad died Thursday, fifteen months after being diagnosed with AML. I am at moms waiting to go to the viewing and trying to find something to do with my time. Sorry for the sad note in the lounge but it helps to talk. djj :(

djj - that's terrible news. I hope that you and yours manage to cope through this terrible time. You are the rock that your mother is going to rely on right now. You have the thoughts of all in the lounge.

It's good to just talk sometimes, no matter where or how. Wish I could do something more tangible to help, but send my deepest sympathy and regards. Andy B

Mate I'm really sorry to hear that. I just got off the phone with my mother, I'd looked at the calendar this morning and realised today is the 8th anniversary of my fathers death. It does get easier with time, I still think about him a lot but its more memories of the good times and the influence he played in my life than the sadness of his passing. Look after yourself

Ohh mate, that's awful news, I'm soo sorry. I had a similar thing happen to my father. He went into hospital for a hernia operation, whilst they were digging about they found cancer pretty much everywhere. He went on Chemo, we thought he was getting better; so did he. Anyway, it all suddenly went downhill after a while, and he died in hospital a shadow of his former self. Really distressing, so I know what it's like. It does get better, and those images you see now will eventually be replaced by the happier memories. :rose:
