It's hard to choose - I like so many, for so many different reasons. But the first to come to mind, without thinking about it, is "Ice Castles." It's really old (so am I), but still a heart-wrenching tale of dignity, dreams worth pursuing, and love eternal. Yeah, I'm a romantic, and proud of it.

[rant] Why has everyone above me picked movies that are not English? There have been some great English movies, Passport to Pimlico, The 39 Steps, Four Weddings and a Funeral etc. It seems most people seem to confuse English and American. One person even picked American Beauty! FFS People It is an AMERICAN FILM!!!! The Clue is in the name! My Fave English Film, (ie Made in England, Using a predominantly English Cast and Crew and English Effects people etc), must surely be the Original Star Wars films, or possibly the James Bond series, although Snatch was excellent.
