Pick your favorite english movie which you ever seen. Its never easy to pick just one from a list, but just try  My pick is "A walk to rememember".
[rant] Why has everyone above me picked movies that are not English? There have been some great English movies, Passport to Pimlico, The 39 Steps, Four Weddings and a Funeral etc. It seems most people seem to confuse English and American. One person even picked American Beauty! FFS People It is an AMERICAN FILM!!!! The Clue is in the name! My Fave English Film, (ie Made in England, Using a predominantly English Cast and Crew and English Effects people etc), must surely be the Original Star Wars films, or possibly the James Bond series, although Snatch was excellent. [/rant]

"Waiting". and "Clerks" I've never worked in a resteraunt like that, everywhere I've been we held the up most respect for food and our patrons, the quarky personalties however hit home. Clerks cause it strangely hitshome with my IT experiences ("I wasn't suppose to be here today!") your right, not easy to pick just one. There is/ was an old Sci fi film from the 60's or 70's. I don't know the name, but Arthur C clark crossed with Doctor Who crossed with "The Prisoner". but for the life of me I don't know what it was.... I saw it late night when I was a kid..

It's hard to choose - I like so many, for so many different reasons. But the first to come to mind, without thinking about it, is "Ice Castles." It's really old (so am I), but still a heart-wrenching tale of dignity, dreams worth pursuing, and love eternal. Yeah, I'm a romantic, and proud of it.
"A Journey of a Thousand Rest Stops Begins with a Single Movement"
How would you defend that as an English film? American again!

ARRGGHHHHH!!!!! SCOTTISH!!! No, just kidding. A funny thing was a lot of people thought Mel Gibson would not be able to play a Scotsman, and yet it turns out he is an Alcoholic, Racist Bigot, so it was fairly easy for him.

Superb film, but fails the English Test. Have you seen Inglorious Basterds yet? That is excellent.
