Why AIDS? Why not cancer? Why not Parkinsons? Why not cerebral palsy? Why not any of the other dreadful diseases that strike people down, even though they've led good, productive, wholesome lives? Why not give a little support to one of those, so that their sufferers can receive a tiny fraction of the succor and comfort that is lavished hand-over-fist on AIDS sufferers?

Don't put bits of your body into other peoples bodies without care. Don't inject shit into your body. Don't get blood transfusions from US blood in the 1980's. There, you won't get aids. Unlucky for the third group, but anyone else has brought it on themsleves.

I work in ents, so several "acquaintances" have died of it. The way they behaved and lived their lives, I wasn't surprised. How many other people here can say they have personally known several people who have died of ADIS? Precious few, I'll warrant, because most of us don't mix with the sort that is the prime candidate for it in the West. Now, as I said before, how many people here have lost loved ones through cancer -- and, indeed, how many of us will it kill? Give respect, love, and money to help people who do not kill themselves through promiscuity and "incautious" behaviour -- those who continually dance on the edge of a cliff are bound to fall off, some time. The flower girl at my wedding, all of 13 years old died from AIDS...given to her by her father through birth...due to a blood transfusion. He did NOT do anything through promiscuity or "incautious" behavior, but was the victim of a medical mistake. My wife took care of that little girl for the last couple years of her life (medical care at her house). So her dad got to see her pass, just like he was there when his wife also passed. Sorry, I have no liking for homophobic morons.

There's a (6???) month delay between initial infection and when you will test positive, and while the pre donor screenings include questions intended to filter anyone in the false negative catory out, the risk from a transfusion/organ donation is still no zero. And at the risk of fighting dirty, you're not really saying that anyone who was raped by an HIV positive person is responsible for the rape are you?

You're assuming that the only way you can catch HIV is promiscuity. That's simply not the case. What about all the inncoent kids in Africa who have HIV, through no fault of their own - are you going to abandon them, too? That's just heartless.

You complain about AIDS awareness day. There only 2 months out of the entire year (12 months for you) that there's no Cancer awareness days or activities...
