We have a new candidate: Man Parachutes From Cell Tower[^]. Too bad he failed to notice the 12kV power lines under him...

 You know, anytime people like this want to remove themselves from the gene pool, it's fine by me. I just hope they use this guy as an example in the local schools to let the kids know that there's a good reason that certain things are not allowed...

he Probably won't be as funny as Charlie Sheen with his head in the light socket in Hot Shots, but it'd still be funny!

I'm not sure that dying in pursuit of your sport is a darwin achievement otherwise we'd see people like Ayrton Senna with awards. From what I hear the guy was at the top of his game and something went seriously wrong on this jump.

Actually that part of the US was part of Mexico before we grabbed it. I believe the name for the ruins predates the US.

Yeah, I remember that. The US army tried to prevent Texas from separating, and somehow found itself in Mexico City. Still, at least for a european ear, "Casa Grande" has some ring, whereas Big House doesn't (Though it means, literally, Big House. A great house would be Gran Casa.)
Personally, I love the idea that Raymond spends his nights posting bad regexs to mailing lists under the pseudonym of Jane Smith. He'd be like a super hero, only more nerdy and less useful. [Trevel]

If one's sport is spectacularly stupid, it qualifies. Jumping off cell towers, especially in the vicinity of high voltage power lines, belongs in that category in my book.

Yeah, but bragging about the size of your knob and bragging about the size of your house. Y'Know it's more acceptable to talk about your dick.

I'm sure that when "Worst sporting moments" get hold of the carnage vid and play it with a really patronising voice over that's the way it will seem. I'm also sure that people like him actually live their lives far more than the people who will sit and watch this kind of "train crash" tv. Many people dream of BASE jumping but comparatively few have the dedication or skill to put in the training to go to the edge, in most cases these guys aren't just rolling the dice and seeing what comes up. They are adventurers in the spirit of the old days, judging the risks of what they do and minimising them to the greatest extent possible but in the end accepting that life doesn't always have to be served in ten minute chunks with 3 minutes in between for the messages from our sponsors and can sometimes include some risk.
