    ...of a smash and grab. For those of you that don't know, a smash and grab is when the kaffer smashes your car window and grabs usually a handbag or what ever else is reachable. Me and my girlfriend were on our way out to go have dinner at a restaurant, just as I got off the highway at a red traffic light it happened. For my jozi people it happened as you get off the highway from benoni towards boksburg on the way to the east rand mall, i think its the rondebult off ramp. Right at the robot where your facing wild waters. Its so fast I can't describe it, not even to myself. It was all over in half a split second. The fucker came out of absolutely nowhere! I just saw a black hoodie and the next thing i saw was him jumping the barricade on the left and ran down towards the highway. My adrenalin was pumping so hard that I hyperventilated, after that I couldn't feel my body for a good 10 minutes, all my muscles contracted like mad. I couldn't even grip my steering wheel. then just pins and needles all over. I drove us home and we phoned the police Were both okay though

      In Texas, we carry guns for just such occasions. In my case, I have a .40 caliber in a holster on the center console down by my right knee, and a couple of spare magazines in the center console - 36 rounds of hollow point goodness.

      .45 ACP - because shooting twice is just silly

            I'd prefer: you.suck |= (you.Occupation == jobTitles.Programmer && (you.Passion & Programming) == 0) Understand me, I just don wanna suck :cool:

              A few years ago I was held up at gun point while standing on the corner waiting for a bus in Maracaibo. The idiot wanted my money and my wedding ring, which I told him he'd have to shoot me to get. (I was told later I shouldn't have said that, but I really didn't think he had the guts to shoot and I was right.) Finally he grabbed the wallet out of my pocket and ran off. I lobbed a couple of rocks after him and hit him at least twice in the back, once on the back of the head and drew blood. I was pissed for a few minutes then laughed for half an hour. My wallet was still in my pocket. He grabbed my pipe tobacco pouch in his hurry. :-\ :omg: :laugh:

                Sorry to hear it. Hopefully you can get something positive out of the experience. If you want to trade stories I have all kinds of fun ones from when I worked as a bouncer in Tempe to pay my expenses when going to school.

                            Haha, in psychology class we called that "story topping". You're supposed to let people have their moment in the spotlight, but it can be hard when you have such a better story ;P

                              In Texas, we carry guns for just such occasions. In my case, I have a .40 caliber in a holster on the center console down by my right knee, and a couple of spare magazines in the center console - 36 rounds of hollow point goodness.

                              .45 ACP - because shooting twice is just silly

                                    A friend of mine used to talk that way about riding his bike and getting dissed by cars. Until it happened to him, then he was too shaken up to actually do anything, and he didn't even have to put his bike down, he was backed into at a light. I believe in guns, I own two handguns and two long arms (my daughter is almost 13, so I am thinking of treating myself to a shotgun, as well) BUt from what I've seen, people don't rise to the occasion, they fall back to their level of training, and then only if they are lucky and have a lot of training. You never know how you will react until you have to.
