All the software I have seen is absed on great ideas but usually blocks out all sorts of legit sites. Then again, I haven't really pushed them hard, my experiences is limitd to whatever was being used at my school and college.

She has AOL, but not sure how good the built in parential control is for AOL 8, compared to other programs on the market. Not sure what other good programs are out there. You have to remember that no software is 100% accurate in blocking these things. The best parental control to have is to make sure that the parent sits with the child whilst they are on the internet. Locate the computer in a 'common' area like the living room or kitchen. It physically places the computer in an appealing location but does not offer privacy, making it easier to see what's going on. Works for me and my kids. Erik Westermann Author, Learn XML In A Weekend (October 2002)

But the problem occurs when the adult are out. Hence the need of software, its not 100% perfect, but its a start. While the cats away, the mice will play! --- Peter M
