I believe he's travelling and would most likely be on a flight or in connecting airports today. And in any case he's a teetotaller. So it's up to the rest of us (and not just Dalek Dave) to have a beer or two, and a round of scotch to honor CP's own Windows guru.

    Regards, Nish

Everybody on CP should have a . If each person curently online has enough to cover for the rest, that's ~400 beers each. It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it...

Speaking of shots, I found out last week that one of my favorite shot glasses was 2.5 ounces and not 1.5 ounce as I had assumed. Probably explains why I got tipsy faster than I was normally used to.

Having just returned from 3 days in Las Vegas, and unlimited (excellent) scotch at the Riviera, I'm just about scotched out. But I think I can just squeeze in perhaps 6 more in his honor before I hit the sack tonight. Happy birthday, Rama, wherever your luggage ends up! :-D

Happy Birthday, Sri Rama ! best, Bill

"Many : not conversant with mathematical studies, imagine that because it [the Analytical Engine] is to give results in numerical notation, its processes must consequently be arithmetical, numerical, rather than algebraical and analytical. This is an error. The engine can arrange and combine numerical quantities as if they were letters or any other general symbols; and it fact it might bring out its results in algebraical notation, were provisions made accordingly."
