Ya know, I like the company I work for, but this office has some serious temperature problems... Some days it's way too hot, some days it's way too cold, and it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the outside temperature. Today, it's freezing in here... I'm sitting here in my coat... I'd put on my gloves if I could type with them... Trying to integrate a quantitative analysis engine into my software, and everything just seems to mysteriously slip out of my mind... I think Lewis Black said it best (Always a stand-up comic)... And I'm quoting from memory here, so not too accurate... "I know it's cold. You know how I know? Because I haven't been able to finish a sentence in my own head! I'm thinking, 'You know, I should really-- @#%*()^@# it's cold!!!'" Ok, it's not really THAT cold here... But it's cold enough that I can't concentrate on the code...

Seriously... I find myself writing things like... rec.DerivPx = //**** it's cold! Except the real one was uncensored... Obviously I won't be checking that into source control...

There's someone here who's booked out a meeting room for the entire day. She's not using it for a meeting, she turned the heating on and we pop in there throughout the day to warm up.

Don't. The maintenance guys will be very confused.

It's the government's fault! lol jk It's actually not too bad here today. The funny thing is, it's always about 10 degrees warmer in here than outside... no matter what the temperature is outside. That pretty much just sucks lol

Well at least you can predict how it's going to be... If it's freezing outside, bring a sweater... For me... It could be 90 outside and 50 inside, or 20 outside and 90 in here... Today it's about 36 outside and, I'm thinking 60-65 in here. Except now that enough of us complained to the building management, they're turning up the heat... So now I bet it's going to go up to 100 over the next couple hours.

Are you a hundred percent sure that this is a temperature related phenomenon? I’m asking because I’m experiencing the same problem since Monday and the temperature here is perfect.

I wish laws here specified a maximum office temperature after which my employer is forced to send me home with pay.

Cheers, Vikram. (Got my troika of CCCs!)

Oh, I don't think it's below the minimum... It's just cold enough that I can't concentrate, which means I'm just wasting oxygen here.

Are you a hundred percent sure that this is a temperature related phenomenon? I’m asking because I’m experiencing the same problem since Monday and the temperature here is perfect.

I thought that too, so kept my mouth shut... Then one of the traders sitting near me started complaining about the cold, so I knew it wasn't me.
