Shapiro's Third Way - "Evolution in the 21st Century"
-
Perhaps the most concisely beautiful precis on Intelligent Design is James A. Shapiro's 1997 mini-manifesto "The Third Way"/a>[^] I tracked that down after being struck by "Genome as RW memory system". which appears on slide 4/24 "Major Points" of his 22-jan-2010 presentation at Fermilab ( being at the U-of-Chicago Fermilab is his "hood" ). The link to the slides is to be found in the first paragraph of James Shapiro at Fermilab: Richards Dawkins “lives in a world of fantasy”[^] For some time I had thought that the DNA strands resemble a "paper tape" library which is typically loaded into ribosome-processor-cores to do real work. Anyway I learned a new "trademark phrase" - to find all his stuff use the Google query (( "Natural Genetic Engineering" Shapiro )).

To find an entertaining exploration of the roots of the word OXYMORON, see Marina's video HotForWords - Oxymoron[^] The phrase "Genome as RW memory system" I think makes this a resource of possible interest to computer programmers - since "Evolution" appears in the title those who don't find such things fascinating can easily skip over it. "Synchronicity" being another one of my favorite trademark phrases, I thought it curious that your most recent post should be titled Oxymoron, and that only recently had I skimmed through words-I-never-felt-comfy-with at Marina's site.
