I knew it was inevitable when RedGate got it... sigh. dammit. Guess I'll have to wait for an open source equiv now.

I knew they would do it. Darn. :(

Really? From here it just looks like the Pro version is "for pay" and the free version includes a 14-day trial of the Pro version..

Uhm. It seems there still is a free version that does pretty much what the previous version did. Am I missing something?

I don't see anywhere that says it's shareware. Infact I thought they made a deal with Lutz Roeder to keep a free version available. I always expected them to offer a pay for version, it's a perfect tool to offer in that way, but the core functionality seems unchanged.

The free version is same as the one which you may have now. The pro version has extra features. What exactly is the problem then? After all red-gate has to make some money, right? I do not see anything wrong with offering a pro version. (Not that I need it or will buy it as features are not that appealing)

Why is that bad? Why not just pay for such an unbelievably useful tool?

For the same reason that some people feel entitled to steal music instead of pay for it.

Take a look at this: http://www.telerik.com/products/decompiling.aspx?gclid=CJPts83y2KgCFQbCKgodgDb7AQ[^] It is currently beta, and you will need a Telerik account to download, but it is FREE! -Z
