How bout you take up reading? More entertaining than any game, in my opinion. If you like fantasy type games, then read The Sword of Shannara...its the best book in the world - ever. ;) -dork ps: I am making the jackass assumption that you dont read, so if you do, I apologize. I'm just not a big gamer. =)

Donaldson) and Death Gate Cycle(Weis & Hickman). Very entertaining. BW Bored people are boring for boredom shows a lack of inner resources - Amy Thompson

I never got into the Death Gate Cycle..I read Dragon Wing and it didnt really do anything for me. I'll check out the Thomas Covenant, though. Always looking for some good fantasy. If you want some awesome, fast reading fantasy, check out Raymond E. Fiest's Riftwar Saga..thats some good readin'! Magician:Apprentice is probably the fastest book I have ever read. Its great. -dork

brianwelsch wrote: check out Thomas Convenant (Stephan R. Donaldson) Yup, I'm still wondering if it is better than or just equal to the "Lord of the Rings". I mean, story is somewhat similar in means of the environment and races, but the main character is just the most lovely, torn, tortured soul ever. The "The Gap into..." series is just as nice too. I keep submitting “VB” as a Priority-1 bug, but apparently no one here knows how to fix it. Nick Hodapp, Semicolon

Now bored with diablo 2 <> I'm looking for a game with more variety. Skulking round corners disguised as 'The Ethiopean' in Doom style games was fun, the hack and blast of Diablo was entertaining. and the gather up your forces and smite thine enemy of CIV style strategy games took the boredom away - but alas I am getting old - my reflexes are no longer what they were, my concentration is down the pan. What shall I do. I've been tempted by EverQuest but not sure whether to take the plunge - bandwidth not a problem as I might as well do other things with it rather than read the lounge and other (but not as interesting) bulletin boards and programming sites. So thoughts please on where this decrepit gamer can go.

It's at least LOTR. I definitely think I felt more for Thomas than I did for Frodo, the universe was more colorful also. Reviews: http://www.sffworld.com/authors/d/donaldson_stephen/reviews/chronicles.html[^] BW Bored people are boring for boredom shows a lack of inner resources - Amy Thompson

Those sort of trials should be fairly easy to organise in any subscription type games and would allow people to try them out. Kevin
Anarchy Online[^] gives a 7 day trial (which seems a bit short to me, so I guess it'd only be worth using on a week that you really had nothing to do) -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

Now if you want a good long story The Wheel Of Time by Robert Jordan is a good bet, although he hasn't quite finished the series. The next book is out in the new year. Books come down to personal preference. Whats good for you/me may not suit someone else. Which is a shame as there are a lot of good stories out there. Yup, I've loved flashpoint since I got to play the first betas :-D (Though I tend to get stuck on the single player campaigns as they tend to get difficult way too quickly for me) -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

Try Battlefield 1942. Look for a server called "THE TEXAS CONNECTION" -- It's a P4 2.53GHz w/ 1GB of memory and a dedicated 10Mbps Internet connection. Our whole team actually pitches in a few bucks for that one. -- Paul "I drank... WHAT?"
