Now bored with diablo 2 <> I'm looking for a game with more variety. Skulking round corners disguised as 'The Ethiopean' in Doom style games was fun, the hack and blast of Diablo was entertaining. and the gather up your forces and smite thine enemy of CIV style strategy games took the boredom away - but alas I am getting old - my reflexes are no longer what they were, my concentration is down the pan. What shall I do. I've been tempted by EverQuest but not sure whether to take the plunge - bandwidth not a problem as I might as well do other things with it rather than read the lounge and other (but not as interesting) bulletin boards and programming sites. So thoughts please on where this decrepit gamer can go.

Ever played Abalone? You should. You can play it online too at http://uk.abalonegames.com/index.htm[^] But the online game cant replace the feeling of pushing the marbles around. :-D I keep submitting “VB” as a Priority-1 bug, but apparently no one here knows how to fix it. How bout you take up reading? More entertaining than any game, in my opinion. If you like fantasy type games, then read The Sword of Shannara...its the best book in the world - ever. ;) -dork ps: I am making the jackass assumption that you dont read, so if you do, I apologize. I'm just not a big gamer. =)

I still meet some friends weekly online to play D2, but after 2+ years it is starting to get old. (still enjoyable though). Atually it's amazing that a game could hold my interest for over 2 years. Anyway, I've just started playing Neverwinter Nights. Alot more of a true roleplaying game than D2. I'm still just doing the solo adventure, but it looks to have some quite interesting possibilities with the online games. And the scenario editor looks to be truly intriguing, opening all sorts of possibilities. I'm looking for a good persistent world for it, I guess not unlike Everquest or Ultima Online. The new D&D rules seem pretty cool too (haven't actually played D&D in years). From the other post, I may have to check out Operation Flashpoint. Q. This space for rent.

I must admit I use the savegame cheat. Otherwise some missions just become frustratingly long and laborious.
