Right. Just wait until you see the bill from her shopping trip. That will explain everything. Doughnuts .................... $6.00 Cadbury's Chocolate Fingers ... $15.00 New Shoes ..................... $500.00 Suckering Dave into believing she went out "just for him". Priceless. ;P

Did they cover it ? It's a very old blues standard.

I am watching the football and she has gone up the shops and brought me back a pack of doughnuts and a pack of cadbury's chocolate fingers, AND made me a cup of tea to dunk them in! This kind of behaviour makes me want to recommend marriage to any young single people out there!

Thanks for that Dave, it's the kind of anecdote all too easily forgotten. Marriage. Is. Awesome.

They may very well have covered a blues tune, which of course was quite common in the early days of rock & roll. Or it might be a different song altogether. I honestly don't know. Either way, the thought of you listening to Steppenwolf provided me with a brief moment of entertainment. :)

That's the sort of attituded that I wish got more publicity. It seems very common for people to always be bitching about the wife, to the point that the word wife is almost instinctively considered a negative. In fact, when I was married, I almost wanted to tell people she was my girlfriend so they'd understand that it was a Good Thing. Never understood all the bitching & moaning about "the wife." I figure if you're not happy, then just shut up and get single. Otherwise, it gives all those happily married folks like you a bad rap. :)

Thanks DD. It is good to hear a guy say something good about marriage. So often, guys gripe about their wives My wife is the best thing that happened to me. Now, my ex wife, on the other hand... Had the good sense to keep putting off having kids, and divorced me just in time for me to meet my wife, two things for which I am eternally thankful. So, while I do not recommend marrying my ex wife, I highly recommend that I marry my wife.
