That is to say name a really bad film that you actually like watching, even if you do not want friends and family to know? I have a few... War Games The Fog The Land that Time Forgot. (Actually, anything with Doug McClure in it).

I absolutely hated Cloverfield for its excessive shaky-cam but enjoyed the story. I think shaky-cam has just gone wwaaaayyy overboard. Every scene nowadays is like you're watching an earthquake. X| Give me ambiguity or give me something else!

There was that movie (or several movies, to be exact) about a genetically enhanced agent. I think it was called "Chameleon" or something like that. Awesome

I can't believe you can type that and keep a straight face! The only connection between the book and film are a few names and the fact the baddies are bugs, it's an awful adaption of a good book.

You must be smoking something. Tell me what page in the book has the co-ed shower scenes. I'll wait.... Scratch that I won't wait. Cause there are none! The book was chock full armored suits, people going to sleep against their will, and failure. The book was far to matter of fact and had none of the visceral combat feel the movie did. "I shot a missile down a bug whole, blah blah blah, the missile...(to paragraphs for boring information about the missile) blah blah" The movie took that story, tossed out the crap, and added entertainment. I will not however defend any of it's sequels. Anyone involved with those should be set on fire.

That's one of my favorite movies. Explosions, bugs, and co-ed shower scenes. Would you like to know more? One of the very few times the movie was far better than the book it was based on.

Personally, I liked the book because it fit the whole background. Still, the book directly would not have made a good movie (though their body armor would have been cool to see in the movie).

You've got my vote. Rico is a great character that vanishes in the movie.

ROTFL, co-ed shower scenes don't make a story good or bad (although they may help :) ). Lets face it a lot of the books charm is about it's simile for Vietnam and what Heinlein felt were inadequacies in the political system. I guess I just read it more for that layer then for blood guts and sex. I mean a fairly important difference between film and book is that Dizzy changes sex for a start. The book is good the film is mediocre at best, lacking the depth of ideology that the book has. To me the film would have been more bearable if it hadn't tried to claim to have anything to do with the book at all.

The first robocop was awesome, but the second not as good, and I have bothered to see the 3rd one without Paul Weller. Same director as Starship Troopers I think. It should not be in the worst category at all.

I wholeheartedly agree. I think that anyone who has any kind of idea what RAH was talking about really, really hated that film.

You just have to think of it as a different story. That way it is only sucked for its own faults, not also by comparison. :(
