Inglorious bastards

My God! Did Denzel win because he was black or because he was a bloody good actor? Did Speilberg win because he was Jewish or he was a good director? Did Hanks win because he was a retard or a bloody good actor? continue ad nauseum...

OK, we need a black Jewish woman to win! :)

Yes, but not full retard. Never go full retard!

Inglorious bastards deserve better than Hurt Locker and Avatar, does any one agree with this?

Spelt is the past participal of Spell as in letters of a word. If it was the pp of to cast a spell it would have been Spelled, or, in the terrible Americanism of to take a turn at a duty, as in "I spelled him for half an hour" (utterly repugnent). Honestly the way the Americans maltreat the English language they ought to have it confiscated!

i consider myself an American, having lived here all 39 of my years (and having citizenship, the accent, the passport, etc), and i have never heard anyone use that, not even in fiction.

Nope I thought Inglorious bastards was an awful film . It had one good scene where the jew hunter was in the cabin . Apart from that it was complete and utter rubbish . Tarantino is vastly over rated . Some films have superb dialog , but mostly he is just over-hyped.
OK, so I'm not alone in that camp.

Where he walks in on the French family hiding the jewish refugees under the floor? Yeah, that one was good, but if I have the wrong cabin scene, I don't know which one you're talking about. The bar scene was pretty good too.

Enzo G. Castellari's "Quel maledetto treno blindato" (1978) was titled in English as Inglorius Bastards. I thought there might be some confusion.

Copywriting ServicesHmmm, can't think when that was? There was a war once with the colonists, but that was before the USA existed and most of the people on the continent did not speak English.

Of course not. We spoke American, as we do to this very day. Oops. I think I just made your point for you...

That's cause we speak AMERICAN! duh. Note for the sarcastically challenged: It is a joke, I even used the joke message type just to make sure you boneheads don't think I am serious and get all "THOU SHALT SPEAKETH ENGLISH KNAVE!!!" on me. But if you do decide to do it, please be a hot redhead or blonde with a British accent. And sort of purr it if you would be so kind.

Always had a thing for redheads. Wife is a blonde but not british. And there's something about a british accent purring out proper english that makes me melt. I had a friend who thought I was "daft" for having her read out of the phonebook for me once.

What will remain from that film is the cabin scene (actually shot in saxon switzerland, an hour from here), the Hitler slaughter, and Brad Pitt chewing "Arrivederci". I can't say if Tarantino is over- or underrated (comapred to what?), but I have to admire that movie on quite a few points: - Taking the time to tell the cabin story in full length. No cut, no compromise. - It has an amazing intensity given the slow tone of telling it. - Landa ordering milk for Shoshanna/Emanuelle. - The Hitler slaughter was liberating (at least for me). There was a lot of tension built up - everything up to this point could have happened, and they'd need a deus ex machina to keep that. Negative Points: - Til Schweiger (though it was one of his better roles) - Diane Kruger - oddly she felt a little bit out of time. Brad Pitt did, too - but I'd give him that as a US American waltzing through history. *shrug* everyone to his own, I guess, thoughthe academy has to make a balance between public appeal and art. Tarantino at least has his own, distinguished style
