Mentally ill, yes. Out of my mind, no. You, on the other hand, are both.

So, you want me to give out personal information on a forum? Some privacy advocate you are. But, seriously, the offer stands, and I will continue to offer it, at least as often as you respond to my posts, and probably more often. Get help. Please. And soon.

ROTFL !!! The point of the book is not anti capitalism, so much as being pro tariffs to protect local industry.

explain to me why totally free markets always result in monopoly or at the very least defacto monopoly?

Monopolies are more common when their are complex regulations, or regulators that regulate in favor of the monopoly (which is all too common) In a free market, if there ever was a monopoly, it would have a hard time competing with business that can offer a better product at a lower price, which would cancel their monopoly.

You're confusing "free markets" with "perfect competition". If there's nothing to prevent it, eventually some company is going to establish a monopoly or a coalition of several will establish a defacto monopoly where they agree to split the market and share the spoils. You think that businesses just magically spring into being? It doesn't happen. And if there's a monopoly, a new entrant can't get traction to even make a dent before the monopoly rolls over on it and crushes it.

You measure democracy by the freedom it gives its dissidents, not the freedom it gives its assimilated conformists.

Funny, there was a story in the paper today about local hookers complaining about being priced out of the market by cheap Asian imports.

What good is a monopoly if you can't jack up your prices? If they were to jack up their prices competition would make quick work of them. Again, monopolies are more common in complex regulatory environments and only a temporary if ever existing blip on the screen in a free market.

This is just stupid. Regulations more often than not welcome any competition to a monopoly. Witness all the legal wrangling MS has had to deal with. On the other hand, how much money would it take to compete with Microsoft ? Is it even possible, on the OS front, in terms of the mainstream ? Many people have tried to compete with Coke/Pepsi and all have failed.

Close enough for practical purposes. Go program up a nice utility for Windows and make it popular. Then watch as the next version of Windows includes that functionality for "free".

You need to actually get out in the world and hold a real job and see what it takes to set up a major production facility. You're clueless as usual.

What do you know about Microsoft vs Netscape? Apparently, not much.
