When I open some websites with flash video, firefox randomly freezes and crashes. Agreed that this is mostly the fault of either flash or an add-on that downloads flash video (I have flash downloaders installed) and outside the purview of Firefox devs, but I'm surprised that the whole browser crashes. I do not know the architecture or design of FF to comment negatively, but this is just so annoying to the end user. The irony is that the Report problem app that comes up after an unexpected browser crash is also broken.

The last time my firefox crashed, I reopened the page that crashed it, and I got a virus... :/ (also assumed as being from flash) A scan could help. But that's just me being paranoid... But that's really the only time I've crashed... And I've never really used the Report a Problem app...

Give Firefox Lorentz a try: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/lorentz/[^] It's a build of FF3.6 that sandboxes Flash, QT and Silverlight in their own process (the way chrome does.) If flash crashes, stalls, or otherwise goes mad, you can just kill the child process in task manager, and firefox continues to run, letting you restart the plugin if you desire. I've been using it for a few days, and it seems pretty good on the few sites I've known to cause FF to lock up in the past

Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit! Buzzwords!

The chrome chrashes on my machine, i hardly use firefox now. Newer versions of Chrome seems unstable with flash applications, same was/is with firefox.
