What do the tories need to do to get in? We are in the middle of the biggest economic disaster we have had for a generation, we have had the expenses scandal, Labour have led us into an illegal war, Brown is obviously incompetent and unable to lead us through the current prediciment and yet the Tories still can't get in! Is this because the constituency boundaries have been moved in such a way that it is impossible for the Tories to regain power or is it that people dont trust Cameron either??

Tories cannot be trusted to do what is right for the country. Labour cannot be trusted at all(unless you are talking about Gordon working on finances). No-one else can get a look in. This ends in the hung parliament we are going to get.

Well, frankly it's all rather depressing. How people can bring themselves to vote for more of this government is just beyond me. According to the news this morning, pretty much the whole of England is Conservative, so I think you need to look outside that.

      Regards, Rob Philpott.

While Wales and Scotland are pretty much Labour, despite the fact that they have their own so called Governments. So Labour cling to power on the votes of people who have already elected their own national assemblies but still think they need MPs at Westminster.

It's time for a new signature.

I'd like to see a Tory SNP coalition for the purpose of giving the Scots independence and removing Scottish MPs from the House of commons. After this there would be a clear government across England and Wales and no more hung parliament.

Not quite - the Westminster MPs are forced upon Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to maintain the total number of MPs in the English parliament.

Note that these are limited in power by the English parliament - particularly in the case of Wales if the Assembly wants to do anything major, it has to raise it's hand and ask permission from the teachers in Westminster. Has done some things though - all Welsh prescriptions are free and have been for 4 or 5 years. What are they charging per item in England these days - £7.20 still? Particularly for the elderly who tend to use more drugs as time goes on, this can be a major cost saver.

Maybe it's just that there is a large part of the population that doesn't trust the Conservatives. Labour were voted in with a landslide majority in the 90s when people were similarly sick of the Conservatives. It's just the reverse happening now -- except not as many people are pissed off with Labour, or as I said, they are pissed off with Labour, but don't trust the Tories.

Cheers, Vikram. (Got my troika of CCCs!)

I was being provocative; everyone is well aware of why this was done. Having a Scottish name, Welsh upbringing, but living in England I very much believe that a single 'British' government is all that we need.

There is also the small matter of the nine million odd immigrants that Blair let into the country, on the cynical basis that 80% of them would vote labour.
