The first computer I used (we couldn't afford to buy it, so my father borrowed it from work) was a Commodore PET with 7K* of system memory. Disk drive? What's that? Use the cassette! * 8K if you included the 40x25 character green screen

It wasn't that long ago that 8GB was outside our wildest dreams.

True, but 8GB is now way too small for modern file servers, which is where you need this sort of performance. I know, I know: wait a few years, they'll be giving them away in cereal boxes...

The first few computers I owned didn't have a Hard Disk at all. (Gadzooks! They hadn't even quantified hardness when I started.) the first 8 or so didn't have any form of disk.

You darn whipper snapper. First computer I used was an abacus! And it was considered new fangled! You kids and yer fancy things like buttons, and resistors and electricity. Back in my day our monitor was our eyes!

If they make it a bit bigger, and pluggable like a normal drive, and it's actually available in stores, I'm in. yeah, consumers today. demanding way to much!

My point is that you've been able to buy this sort of device for years. There's nothing new here except a pile of PR/Marketing vomit.
