It is not about the The link[^], which is a repost to everybody, I think. I was quite 100% positive that the famous quote "With great power there must also come — great responsibility." was something from star wars (Yoda?). However, it seems to come from Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962), which rings no bell so far. So, I am wondering where I heard that first place.

It's sort of a sad thing when quotes come from movies, not books. :sigh: Marc

Spider-man. It's Ben Parker's advice to Peter Parker.

"WPF has many lovers. It's a veritable porn star!" - Josh Smith

As Braveheart once said, "You can take our freedom but you'll never take our Hobnobs!" - Martin Hughes.

Minus 20 geek points! It was commentary on the last page of the story.

Well, I bet you could find screenplays for these, which technically are books. And I also know quotes from books, for instance, mmmhh, " In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.". But that does not fit in the Geek requirement.

This is actually a variant of a biblical verse Luke 12:48. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required.

This would be Scotty from Star Trek To a well hung Capt Kirk in the same establishment: "She canna take any more, captain."

I know it's on the last page. However, he asked where he heard it - and that's the scene in the Spider-man movie (unless he watched the Making of Spider-man special); so you lose 40 points and my reputation as a geek is unharmed. Don't mess with somebody who's watched that film with his kids 30 or so times in the last year.

I miss: - "I'll be back" - "It's a witch !" - "What are you going to do now ? Bleed on me ?" - "It's classified. I can tell you, but I'll have to kill you" - "It's green!" - "Luke, I am your father" And a few more, but from french movies...

I agree with your choices and add a few more... "I want a new car! Something that goes really, really fast and gets really shitty gas mileage!" - RoboCop "You're on a 'need to know' basis, and you don't need to know." - The Rock "They haven't seen the heat ray yet." - The Artilleryman, Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds "I'd piss on a sparkplug if I thought it would help." - WarGames

I prefer the adaptation from the movie "Kick-Ass": With no power comes no responsibility.

Actually, I think that was from "The 5th Element" - "With great power comes bigga badda boom ..."
