In the past, one of my flight got canceled because their team tried to upgrade navigation s/w and screwed up big time. This resulted in delay of 8-10 hour to reach my destination :)

Given that I used to write air traffic control software, you might want to get a book of mellow meditations instead. :)

I think I still have a copy of that I bought in high school ('70s). It isn't anywhere near as bad as the intratubz.

A good friend found directions on making a smoke bomb in this (the chapter started with "a little of this will fill up a city block") and decided this would be the perfect ploy for a senior prank. This was back when this sort of activity would get you a firm slap on the wrist instead of life in prison. Anyway, he was mixing up a batch on the stove while his dad was sleeping upstairs and managed to ignite the goo filling the house with smoke. He managed to get to his dad before he called the fire department. Dad was not pleased. :omg:

Still the #1 hit with developers... but not most technical managers... "Rapid Application Development" by Stephen McConnell If nothing else, you will find exactly what your boss is doing wrong and how bad they can mangle your development efforts... By the way, I have implemented the technical analysis processes for project schedule development. As difficult as they are to learn and tweak... they work! With my first try I missed my targeted deadline by only 4 days on 3-4 month project. When you see the investment in time and effort to learn these processes you will understand why "4 day miss" on the first time round is top-draw...
