That does not explain how you won three times in a row.

When you type something into the main textbox on google.com, it does not do the auto-completion thing based on what you have typed before. Instead, it tries to guess what you may want to search (the most popular search words that match what you typed?). I hate that. But now I found a different use for it: If I forgot how to spell a word, I will type it on google.com, the complete spelling will come up most of the times, much faster than online dictionary. :-D

And I wonder if you succeeded. I did tried that initially but it's all in vain.

No it did not go too well... If you figured out the starting of the word correctly, you may get something on google - but if you've got the middle of a word, google cannot do much to help.

By the way, Googling is a skill. I was almost about to put that on my resume. ;)

You, my good man, are amazing. All the more so considering your native language isn't English. I've only won it 3 times ever (Chinaman, Seastrand, Tarragon), and got a British colleague to give the answer once (the last one). One other time, I figured out the answer before even reading the question completely, but was beaten by Rajesh by a single minute. (Skulduggery)

Cheers, Vikram. (Got my troika of CCCs!)

I'unno, typing in "ober" came up with the suggestion of "aubergine", which was what I was after. Magic.

When I'm not too sure of a spelling I search with both alternatives and the one with the most hits is the winner.
