This[^] cutie does 226 km/h without cutting blades and 194 km/h with them. But that's been timed on a racing track, not a lawn.

Is it really a valid test for a lawn mower to be driven on sand? I would have thought that the record needs to be set on grass to be valid??? Us Brits are great inventors! crazy, but we get there... We made it to America didn't we??? :-D P.S. The American's still owe us for all that tea they destroyed!!!

FTFY Although we take no responsibility for anything that happened after the warranty expired in 1776.

Without also mowing the front-room carpet, the cat, next door's dog and car, and any passers by? Not sure, but it would be pretty quick.

LOL - I don't think we took much responsibility before that time either... :-D

Or better still, can we have it in furlongs per fortnight.

Quite so. But the other so called record was done on a beach. Big difference?

Strange - why don't they just test speeds on lawns instead?

Poor accelleration and not long enough lawns is my guess. Golf course owners would probably be biased against speed tests.

there is a difference? I assume google.co.uk converted to real miles for me :)

There isn't, actually -- but everything else in the US is smaller (pounds, ounces, pints, cups, etc.), apart from miles and mouths.
