Well, they were bollocks anyway. France seem to be a Dr. Jekyll - Mr. Hyde team: 1994 - IIRC, didn't make it. 1998 - champions. 2002 - first round exit, IIRC they didn't score even a single goal. 2006 - runners up. 2010 - first round exit. Tomorrow England will most likely join their bosom buddies, the French. I root for Germany!

Cheers, Vikram. (Got my troika of CCCs!)

Don't blow that horn too quickly. If England win, coupled with a US loss, they will be leading their group. Even without the US loss, they will be in 2nd. It's not a given just yet that they are going home early. :)

The Goal difference is in their favour, plus they are expected to beat Ghana. (Although, they were expected to beat Serbia too!) If Germany are knocked out, I will switch allegiance to the Oranje country.

Let's see, the US plays the team with the worst goal differential in the group, while England plays the team with the best goal differential in the group - what do you think the odds are that England will win, and the US lose?

So says someone who just doesn't 'get' football. 1. It's not sad it's France. 2. You don't have a favourite team you support your country (however bad they are) 3. It's not possible to have two 'favourites' unless one is a club side and the other is a country. :)

You missed one fact: Ireland did not even got close to be dangerous in their game against France. OK, Henry cheated, but to win, Ireland would also have had to score, which, IMHO, was not the easiest for them to do. So please stop with this "we should have been there". If this were the case, you would have qualified yourself earlier.

Well, the US didn't lose. However, neither did the English. Though no one is too complimentary about their play so far, they have yet to lose a game and they are going on the next round. Unlike the French. :)
