The boy had a thinko. It is true we are the junior partner today, but back then we were all that stood between civilisation and jackbooted tyranny by an overwhelming force based upon a heavy reliance on military might and extensive manipulation of currencies and workforces controlled by one godlike presence voted in by goodmeaning citizens scared of the state of the world. Oh, wait...

I heard a comment that the Labour election campaign and subsequent recriminations were like a car crash, but it seems the driver left the scene of the accident!

Not the smartest thing he's done. I like Cameron but he is still inexperienced; however, I'd rather have him making the odd faux-pas than see that sniveling coward Brown anywhere near Downing Street.

Yes, but you entered that war under a man that shared some of Hitler's views and strengths. That will not happen again very quickly.

Ditto, and not that Brown meant much in my life, but I sympathise with you Brits.

I agree entirely. I just wondered how Dave would resolve the conflict between his Tory Boy nature and his love of pro-British historical accuracy. ;) In the grand scheme of things it's not too important and I'd rather have Cameron than Brown (I'd rather have Clegg than either but that was never going to happen.)

As has our "boy", Zuma. Initially he made several blunders, but has subsequently proved himself a really good leader. (IMHO).

Refering to Churchill, I have read that he favoured 'removing' mentally handicapped people from society, and he shared many of Hitler's leadership and warrior strengths.

I don't know enough about Churchill to dispute the first part, though that is the first time I've heard of it. It seems a little unfair, though, to refer to his strengths as a war leader in that context. We needed a strong and military-minded leader at the time in order to defeat another one. We entered the war under a good peacetime leader and if he'd stayed we'd have lost the war very quickly.

In what context is that valid? Don't misunderstand, I do not like him either, but surely that is rather extreme.

I don't think it is unfair, nor negative, to refer to his strengths as a war leader in that context. If one can bring oneself to ignore Hitler's genocidal intent and racism, he was a good war leader, as was Churchill.

Take your pick: that's how I see him and always have. I say it as I see it and I fail to see where the truth is extreme: he proved this description of himself when he bottled out of calling an election and went downhill from there: the worst prime minister we've ever had (a post he was clearly not fit for and I blame Blair for giving in to him), bar none so, yes, he is a sniveling, spineless, duplicitous politician that I'm glad to see the back of.

Wow, even for a politician that's quite bad. Besides Mussolini, I don't think anyone has, besides Brown, ever deserved that description.
