I would answer you but I just don't have the energy.... :-)

Whenever I have a supervisor the number one criticism I get is that I work too fast. I would rather finish a task immediately than to wait. I pay all of my bills the day I get them and not the day they are due. Personally, I find it to be a great stress reliever as nothing ever comes up that blows my schedule. Btw, the number 2 criticism I get is that I won't work late on Friday for something a manager told me about at the last second. Number 3 is that I am an absolute A-hole. But everyone here already knew that.

Need custom software developed? I do custom programming based primarily on MS tools with an emphasis on C# development and consulting. I also do Android Programming as I find it a refreshing break from the MS. "And they, since they Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs" -- Robert Frost

Well there's smart-lazy and there's dumb-lazy... Smart developers allow themselves to save time, do it right the first time, and make maintenance easier. "A stitch in time saves nine." Dumb-lazy will just whip off one-off reports. Smart-lazy will write them down so you can repeat them easily. (There's no such thing as a one-off report.) "Don't put off for tomorrow what can be put off until the day after tomorrow." There is also the factor that sometimes procrastination pays off -- if you have a manager who often changes his mind, then you probably shouldn't jump at every whim, wait and see what he really wants before spending a lot of time on a moving goal. Dumb-lazy will write very short variable names. Smart-lazy will write meaningful variable names. Dumb-lazy won't write comments. Smart-lazy will write meaningful comments. Dumb-lazy uses VB.net. Smart-lazy uses C#.

Not all that's black is a raven. The questions are based on the premisse that all programmers are lazy. That by itself is incorrect. Answering with either yes or no would both validate that incorrect statement.

I have been sitting here, deliberately not posting, just to prove how lazy I am. Unfortunately, no one seems to have got the joke. So I thought that if I explain it might be funnier. It's got to be at least as funny as an empty post.

I'm not a lazy programmer but I'm extremely lazy when it comes to doing things I don't like to do. Like: documentation, accounts, housework, getting up in the morning, finishing projects, etc., etc., etc.

Yes, but smart-lazy is now doing something interesting and the secretary remembers the great service that was provided. Dumb-lazy is stuck in a dead-end mindless job.

Well, if you think spending months looking for a new job in this economy is "interesting" then yeah. And smart-lazy isn't ever going to see the secretary again, so who cares if they remember. Dumb-lazy may be in a dead-end mindless job, but they are getting paid.
