Whilst it would be inaccurate to say there is no connection whatsoever, it seems very remote a chance indeed that they are connected. However, the flares may have produced a spike on the power line that has caused a corruption somwhere in the deepest recesses of your pc that causes them not to be read. But again this is unlikely. Perhaps some form of corrupt data has been copied onto both of them.

Very well could be any of those. The only thing that gets me is that they have fairly static content (MP3s), they reside in a padded pocket in my laptop case and only come out when I am in the office. Now, since they both reside in the same pocket, they of course are exposed to the same environment, which could have been static electricity, etc... Anyway... I just chalked it up to irritating electronics until I remembered about the flares.

Anyone else having issues with USB Flash Drives after the solar flares earlier this week? I have 2 that now have "disk errors" that only started on Wednesday. That's a pretty large coincidence, so I wonder if this is a symptom of solar flares... We all know that they can cause havoc with electronics, but I really wouldn't have thought that these last solar flares were strong enough. thoughts?

I suggest building a small conical foil shield and placing it over the memory sticks in question. ;)

I had the same issue when I was abducted by the aliens, but I can't really remember if it was during the solar flares.

            Pyramidal, surely?

Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

Somebody already suggested the cover. What should he use the duck for?
