Maybe they're just bringing you back because they think you're a HPOA?

I could live with that. Although, in a completely male dominated field it would be kind of awkward.

I also do Android Programming as I find it a refreshing break from the MS. "And they, since they Were not the one dead, turned to their affairs" -- Robert Frost

Not usually but I get enough of them. Usually the bigger projects are worse because the second the release comes around the entire team gets let go early. The one and two person projects they will keep you on until the end to make sure things go smooth. The larger projects where I am in charge I plan a tiered release of developers. All in all, a one person project is not a bad way to spend a summer every now and then.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too - that 1-man projects would be better in the long run for an independent contractor like you.

Today is release to test day. No features on the list so I have to be patient and wait for bug reports and rants. Only 4 weeks left on the project for features anyway so the absolute feature cut-off is coming in a week or two. The last two weeks are always the worst. Afraid to make any changes; adding comments to clarify comments; cleaning up the old files that are no longer in use. Looking for a new job. This is actually the 5 time I have come back to this one project; I didn't know I was so competent.

I've been "looking for another job" for 6 years but I always pull out of my slump. Monday's seems to be particularly difficult because I have re-wrap my brain around the project after being away for a weekend. Here's a good survey for the rest of us: On what day of the week do you feel like quiting the most?

          Sunday.

Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

I think that's just a moonlighting gig, for some extra pocket change...

Although I have never been to a Gay bar, I can't imagine the Pole Dancers having pockets on A&&less chaps.

I wish I could go back to a 1 man project - just design, code and fix. Even with the drop in income it might be worth it.
