http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-11258739[^] Seems the crazy pastor has opened up a right can of worms. I'm so glad I'm a Atheist. [Edit] I wouldn't be at all surprised if something nasty happens this weekend.

The total lack of perpective from the muslim world leaders who have threatened death and destruction because of this is rather interesting. Still, they got what they wanted. The simple fact is don't cross Islam, no matter who you are.

It never ceases to amaze me that if a guy proclaims he's been visited by a devine being and has all the answers to every issue in the world in the present day he'd be treated as psychotic. Turn the clock back many centuries however and it's 'let's follow this guy and kill anyone that disagrees'. :-( Andy B

"President Hamid Karzai said the stunt had been an insult to Islam, while Indonesia's president said it threatened world peace." "Demonstrators burned a US flag and chanted "Death to Christians"." And that's supposed to help world peace, is it? The pastor is a loony. Treat him like it, and he might shut up. Treat him as if he is a serious player on the world stage, and he (and his ideas) become a serious player on the world stage.

Real men don't use instructions. They are only the manufacturers opinion on how to put the thing together.

The think is, everyone involved with religion as all looneys :), so you're fighting a losing battle.

The pressure wasn't put on him because people might be killed. The pressure was put on him because his actions were stupid and counter productive. he made it harder for the US to do the job that it's trying to do. If all the moderate Muslim leaders had come out and said that he had a right under the First Amendment of his country to build his bonfire, and he should just be ignored, it wouldn't have changed the fact that the guy is the best recruiter that the Taliban et al have had in years. When you've got someone in your country recruiting terrorists, you shut them down. Regardless of what the rest of the world thinks. This isn't a story about how Muslims can't handle criticism. This is a story about a nut job in Florida who thinks 'tragical' is a real word, running a recruitment drive for the very people he claims to hate. There were Party Hats and High Fives in Taliban HQ when Jones hit the world headlines. I wouldn't be surprised if they are considering putting his face on their bank notes or a postage stamp. -Rd

-Rd

Reminds me of Hitler in World War II.
